Operating Agreement

Thank you for choosing Perl Photography LLC. Please read the following paragraphs carefully. It lists all the information you need to know and the conditions under which I operate. Your signature is required at the bottom, as this document will serve as our contract.

Sending your items to the studio:

Products are frequently damaged in shipment, particularly cardboard packaging. If I will be shooting a photo of the packaging, please pack it well with ample padding. In addition, often during manufacturing or handling, a product can be ruined, have visible imperfections, marks etc and may not look its best. For these reasons, I recommend you send a second sample of your product so I can shoot the best of the two.

If sending a second product is not possible, I can, in most instances, fix any problems in Photoshop. Please note, however, that these edits may increase the quoted price.

Products can be dropped off or shipped to the studio at 1428 Pitkin Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11233.

I'm usually at the studio between 10am and 6pm but often leave for photo shoots. It is important that you inform me when you would like to come so I can confirm I will be there.

Important: GPS apps tend to send cars the wrong way. My block is a one way st that can be accessed ONLY via Eastern Parkway. (Look for the Sunoco gas gas station.)

Shipping:

UPS is the best courier; the delivery guy is a friend who will do his best make sure your products get to me.
FedEx is alright; I do not usually have an issue with them. 
USPS is horrible; I always have problems with them and always need to pick up packages at the post office.

Important: If I need to pick up your package from the post office or a courier location, you will be charged for the time at a rate of $85/hr.

Having the tracking code helps me to know when to expect your items and is a great help.

Turnaround time:

My schedule is generally booked two weeks in advance. I will usually provide a date that I plan to shoot your products, however these dates are not guaranteed . I typically stay on schedule but if something comes up I will try to inform you. The shooting and editing times of a particular product or products can vary, the particulars of which I will discuss with you.  

Delivery of files:

Important: It is my policy to never deliver photos before payment is received, no exceptions. Therefore, I recommend you take a close look at the payment options below to expedite file delivery.

Once payment has been received, you will receive an email acknowledging payment and a link to download the files. In most cases I provide both a full resolution .jpg file and a smaller more manageable (1500px) .jpg file.  

Payment options:

Check or Money order: Checks or money orders can be made payable to 'Perl Photography LLC' and mailed to the studio at 1428 Pitkin Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11233.
Cash: Cash can be delivered to the studio, if you prefer. 
Bank Transfer: A bank transfer through Bank of America is possible. Please contact me for more info. 
Paypal: Payment can be sent through Paypal to info@avrohomperl.com. 

Important: Paypal often charges a fee for business payments. It is your responsibility to pay the full invoice; any unpaid fees will be charged back to you.

Product pickup:

Products can be picked up from the studio at 1428 Pitkin Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11233. Please be in touch before you come to ensure that I will be there.

If you would like to have your products shipped back to you, please send your items along with a prepaid shipping label so that I can give it directly to a courier driver.

Important: If I need to drop off your package at the post office or any other courier location, you will be charged for the time at a rate of $85/hr.

As a product photographer, my studio quickly fills up with all sorts of items and boxes and storage quickly becomes an issue.
Important: Your products will be held for a maximum 14 days from the date the invoice is issued. After that, your product(s) will be discarded or become public property. (If 14 days is not sufficient, please let me know and we will work it out.) In the past, many clients have chosen to leave their products for me to keep or throw away because pickup is not practical. If you have no need to pick up your product(s), please let me know.
